Open AI Account Registration and API Key Acquisition Guide

This is the step-by-step guide on how to register for an Open AI account and obtain an API Key


Setup an Open AI account:

Before registering an account, please prepare the VPN and the local mobile phone number that matches the VPN location. If you do not have a local number, you can register a foreign phone number via sms activate (https://sms-activate.org/en).

  1. Go to the Chatgpt website: https://chat.openai.com/auth/login   
  2. Sign up for an account using an Email  
  3. Verify your phone number via SMS (do not choose WhatsApp)  
  4. Once you enter the chatbot’s main page, choose "upgrade to plus" from the right-hand bar  
  5. Select “Upgrade Plan to Chatgpt Plus” 
  6. Fill in the payment details  

Get an Open AI API:  
  1. Visit the Open AI website: https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview
  2. Log in with the account
  3. Select “Set up paid account” and click “I’m an individual”
  4. Fill in the payment details with your foreign bank account
